Solutions to fix when Apple Voicemail not working
Take a quick glance at the proper ways and apply them to fix your issue.
Methods 1: Fix Airplane Mode
Airplane mode is a feature that disconnects your iPhone from the cellular signal. Since it is disabled by default, you will need to enable this feature. Go to ‘Settings’ and activate the rocker for Airplane mode. Reconnect to your cell tower to receive a better signal. Access the voicemail and it will work again if this solution worked correctly.
Method 2: Reset Network Settings
Open the “Settings” application and go to the “General” tab. Then click “Reset Network Settings” in the drop-down menu of the “Reset” option. Restart your phone and voicemail will work as expected. Write down the WiFi router passwords, otherwise you may lose them after resetting the network settings.
Method 3: Reset your Apple Voicemail Password
This method worked with many users, so you can try it. Therefore, go to “Settings” and choose “Phone”. Then press “Change voicemail password” and set a new password for your voicemail. Finally, click on the “Save” button to apply the changes.
Method 4: Reset your Voicemail
Press the “1” key on your device’s numeric keypad, then “*” to access the main menu. Now press “3” to access the greeting menu followed by “2” to record a new greeting. Existing records are read first when you replace it with the new greeting. Start recording the greeting when prompted and press the ‘#’ key to terminate the process. Finally, press “1” to have the recording used as a voicemail greeting.
Method 5: Reboot your device
Press and hold the power button until the ‘Drag to Shutdown’ dialog box appears. Slide the slider to turn off your device for at least 30 seconds. Then press and hold the power button to perform a soft reset. The Apple logo appears and the iPhone starts to correct the voice message.
Method 6: Check and install carrier settings update
Update your operator settings to make it compatible with the new iOS installed on your device. Go to “Settings” and go to the “About” section of the “General” tab. If an update is pending, press the install button next to it and retrieve it from your device. Restart your device and voicemail will resume work.
Method 7: Update the firmware
Connect your device to a wireless network and launch a web browser. Search online for an updated version of the firmware. If you find an updated version, press the “Update” button and install it on your device.
