Download Errors on Windows 10

[breadcrumb_simple]

Although Windows 10 is the last and most important iteration of the Windows operating system, it is far from perfect. This being the case, Microsoft periodically launches tons of updates for Windows 10 as well as for the programs and applications it contains. Unlike older versions of Windows, however, all updates deployed on Windows 10 computers through Windows Update are required and are automatically downloaded and installed at one time or another. Regardless of the importance status of an update, whether you want to install it or not, it will eventually be downloaded and installed, although you have the power to slightly delay the event.

Solution to solve Download Errors on Windows 10

Solution 1. Disable Third-party Antivirus Programs and Windows Firewall

Normally, you should not disable antivirus programs on your computer because they can protect your computer from viruses and other security threats. However, because the Windows 10 0x8007007e update error code is probably caused by the interference of antivirus software, you can temporarily disable them. Once the Windows 10 update is complete, you can reactivate them.

Step 1. In the system tray (in the lower right corner), you can right-click the antivirus program icon and disable it.

Step 2. In the Windows Cortana search box, type Control Panel and select the best match.

Step 3. When you open Control Panel, click System and Security.

Step 4. Then click Windows Defender Firewall (Windows Firewall).

Step 5. Now, in the left window, click Enable or Disable Windows Firewall.

Step 6. Select Disable Windows Firewall and restart your PC. Again, try opening Windows Update and see if you are able to fix Windows Update error 0x8007007e.

If you find that this method does not suit you, follow the steps above to activate your firewall and reactivate the antivirus software. This step is necessary because your computer is vulnerable to attack when connected to the Internet.

Solution 2: Make sure you have enough space

You can not download any files if you do not know where to place them. All jokes aside, you’d be surprised how many people do not know how much storage space they have left. To be honest, it happens to me all the time with my phone.

So make sure you have enough storage space for the file you want to download. If you do not have enough space on your hard disk, consider removing some applications that you do not use or deleting temporary and old files.

Here is perhaps the most effective way to delete old files:

  1. Open this PC.
  2. Right-click the system partition and open Properties.
  3. Choose Disk Cleanup.
  4. Select the check boxes next to Temporary Files.
  5. Confirm the selection and clean the temporary files.
