Solutions to fix Email error on iPhone
Method 1: Check the Internet connection
The first thing to check is your internet connection. Whether you’re using cellular data or Wi-Fi, make sure it’s fast and continuous to avoid the failure of connecting to the email server on iPhone.
Method 2: Restart your iPhone
Restarting the iPhone corrects most errors. Hold and press the Home button and power button until the Apple logo appears. Now, try to open your mails via Mail App. The failure problem of the mail server must be corrected.
Method 3: Delete and re-enter mail account
Delete your email account and add it again. Re-entering the username and password often make the email work on your iPhone, without giving the error. Steps to re-enter the account and password:
- Go to Settings> Passwords and accounts on iPhone
- Select the e-mail account and click Delete Account.
- Return to Account and Passwords. Add your account again.
Method 4: Change the mail account password
Changing the password of your email account can also sometimes fix the iPhone error, ‘Unable to get mail: the connection to the server failed’.
If your Mail app does not open at all, you can change the password by visiting your email account’s website via Chrome, Safari, or Opera.
Method 5: Move emails to different folder
Some users have been able to open their mails by moving them to a temporary folder from the inbox. You can also try to open your emails with this method.
Steps to move emails to a temporary folder:
- Select the mails from the inbox you want to open
- Use the ‘Move’ option to move the mails into a new folder
- Visit the folder and access the mails
