What is File sharing Issue?
In computing, a shared resource, or network share, is a computing resource made available from a host to other hosts on a computer network. local network or corporate intranet, seamlessly as if it were a resource of the local machine. Network sharing is made possible by inter-process communication over the network. Computer problems can be very boring, especially network and sharing issues. There are many aspects of networking where problems can arise. For example, some settings that you or others might manipulate might prevent users from seeing each other’s files. Some settings may not be configured correctly from the start. Windows and the underlying network technology may also have problems.
Symptoms File Sharing Issues
On Windows XP computers that are configured as members of a workgroup in a peer-to-peer network environment, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:
- You can not access shared folders or files.
- You can not locate other computers in the workgroup.
- You receive the following error message when you double-click the workgroup in My Network Places
Solution to solve File Sharing Issues
Solution 1- Restart the network connection
Sometimes rebooting, or disabling, and re-enabling a network connection / adapter can help make the sharing work. The adapter may not work properly, be it the fault of the adapter or Windows. To refresh the connection, open the Network Connections window through Control Panel or Vista Network and Sharing Center. Then right-click the problem adapter and click Disable. Give it a moment, then click again with the right mouse button and click Activate.
Solution 2- Restart your computer
As with other computer problems, some problems can be solved simply by restarting the PC. There may be a problem with Windows or the network connection that prevents sharing. To refresh your computer, restart it normally.
Solution 3- Restart the router
This technique is most applicable when sharing does not work on all computers. Network routers are small computers and, like your PC, they can lock themselves and have their own problems. Restarting your router can solve the problem. Simply unplug the unit for a few seconds and then plug it back in again. Then, try another share.
