It does not matter how it happened, when it happened, or who did it. If your phone is wet, the result is usually the same. a tempered brick. Everyone was there before, not just with the phones. Whatever electronics is wet, you always feel the same sense of loss when you can turn it on. Water damage can cause significant problems with the delicate internal circuits of your phone or other electronic device, rendering them unusable and your information missing for good. Has your device been left in the toilet by accident or by the dog? Did you jump into the pool with your phone, leave it in the rain or accidentally throw it in the wash? Try the following steps to register your phone.

Also, If your phone was lost in a swimming pool or hot tub, rinse your phone in clean water as chlorine is very corrosive.

  1. Take it out of the water as soon as possible. The plastic covers of mobile phones are quite narrow, but water can penetrate the phone over time. But this time can be quite short - 20 seconds or less. So take your phone quickly!
  2. Remove the battery. This is one of the most important steps. Do not take the time to think about it; electricity and water do not mix well. Turning off the power of your phone is a crucial first step in saving it. Many circuits inside the phone will survive immersion in water provided they are not connected to a power source when wet.
  3. Remove your SIM card. Some or all of your valuable contacts (as well as other data) could be stored on your SIM card. For some people, this could be more interesting than the phone itself. SIM cards survive water damage well, but some of the following steps are not necessary, that is, they do not heat up. Just tap it and leave it alone until you need to connect your phone to your cellular network. Note that many phones from specific providers, such as Verizon, do not use SIM cards.
  4. Dry your phone. Obviously, you need to remove as much water as possible as quickly as possible to prevent it from entering the phone. Use a towel or paper towel to remove as much water as possible.
  5. Let the phone dry. Since you do not want to damage your phone or lose all the numbers in your phonebook, you must let the phone dry. In addition, ringtones and graphics remain with the phone - not with the SIM card. Do not attempt to replace the battery to see if it works as this may damage the phone in the event of a short circuit. Leaving your phone in a bowl of dry rice will help speed up the evaporation of moisture.
  6. Warm your phone. Apply enough heat to your phone so that the water evaporates without your digital screen getting dirty in the water. One of the best things to do to record a mobile phone is to set it on the back of your computer monitor or your TV screen above the air vents. This is usually the ideal amount of heat to repair your phone. The convection action of the heat vents will help evacuate moisture from your phone. Leave the phone on heat for at least 2-3 days.
  7. Test your phone. After waiting 3 days, make sure everything is clean and dry, put the battery back in the phone and check if it works. If your phone does not work, repeat step 4. If it still does not work, try bringing your mobile phone to an authorized reseller. Sometimes they can fix it.
