Sony x505 Laptop
The Sony X505 Laptop is quite pretty and hard to put in the store, but its beauty will cost you both in features and performance. Nevertheless, the VAIO X505 is the sexiest laptop on the market. The system comes with a decent software package. The highlight is Microsoft Windows XP Professional. You also have Microsoft Office 2003, InterVideo WinDVD for DVD playback and a number of Sony applications for audio, video and system restore requirements.
The body of the Sony X505 Laptop consists of a nickel-carbon composite fiber. This material is commonly used in the world of cycling. Carbon fiber provides an incredibly strong body at a fraction of the weight of other metals; the only problem is that this material is expensive. The nickel-carbon composite gives the system a very stiff and robust feel. The material is cool to the touch, so it has the look and feel of the metal.
The dark gray look is elegant on the outside, then inside, a graphite finish is also pretty. To add to this cool exterior look, the power button is incorporated directly into the hinge and illuminates in neon green to indicate that the unit is on. The location of the hinges only shows that Sony's engineers are both innovative and design-conscious. The screen is 10.4 inches. It is the same size as any other ultraportable notebook screen, such as the Sony VAIO TR series, the Fujitsu P7000 series or the Sharp Actius MM20 series.
The Sony screen has a very good brightness. This is a sharp and clear XGA resolution screen. I'm not a fan of small screens with a relatively low resolution (I prefer SXGA or UXGA, so for me XGA is "low resolution"). But it is of course the compromise with an ultraportable laptop, you get a really small and very light computer but you lose the size of the screen and other features.
