Intuit has 4.5/5 stars on over 9,000 reviews for all versions of the iOS TurboTax app and is a free download from the App Store. H&R Block Tax Prep and File H&R Block offers the same features and benefits as TurboTax with its iOS app and offers a 100% accuracy guarantee and a maximum refund guarantee. The app includes features like document scanning, one-tap help, live tax-experts and even 3D Touch support for checking your refund status. 

You can also start, continue, and finish your tax returns on any device. However, pricing looks to start at $1.98 via in-app purchases ($0.99 a piece for Federal and State filing). Also, it goes up to about $90 depending on your needs. Hence, H&R Block’s iOS app has 4/5 stars with over 1,500 reviews for all versions and is a free download from the App Store. 

How to Use TurboTax on the iPad? 

Intuit’s TurboTax for iPad apps offer the same features you find with the company’s Web, PC and Mac options. Three versions — Deluxe, Premier and Home & Business — are supported, each walking the user through a variety of interview questions and then double-checking for accuracy and for any additional credits or deductions that you may be eligible for. Upon completion of the interview process, your return can be filed wirelessly with the IRS. 

Using the App 

Once you’ve installed and launched the appropriate version of the app, you’ll be presented with questions. Aditionally, it is about your personal life — your marital status, number of children or any recent deaths in the immediate family. The app will invite you to also enter pertinent financial information — either manually or using snapshots of your W-2s and other paperwork. Then will help guide you through your available credits and deductions, before checking your return for accuracy and sending it to the IRS.
