Watching YouTube on TV allows you and your friends and family to watch videos on a larger screen directly in the comfort of your living room. The most ideal way to watch YouTube on TV is to activate the YouTube app on your Smart TV or video game console, and then access videos in just a few clicks of your remote. Activate YouTube on smart TVs is very simple. Keep in mind that some models do not support the YouTube app. Therefore, if you can not find the YouTube app on your TV, make sure your device supports it. Enable YouTube on Smart TV is also identical to Roku. You’ll use the same link, youtube.com/activate smart tv, to connect your YouTube to your Smart TV. If you have a Smart TV made in 2013 or later, you’ll have the new integrated YouTube app. You will need to follow the steps below to enable YouTube on your Smart TV.

How to activate YouTube on Smart TV ?

1. Open your YouTube app on your Smart TV
2. Select the Gear icon on the left side
3. Click on Sign in
4. It will give you an 8 digit code. Here, keep this screen open.
5. Now go to youtube.com/activate from your laptop or phone.
6. Enter your Google account information and sign in
7. Now, enter the 8 digit code that the YouTube app gave you and proceed.
8. Select Allow access if you see the option.

For the versions that are older, they will have the old flash YouTube app. You can use that app to activate YouTube from youtube.com/activate smart tv and watch YouTube channels.

5. Now, enter your Google account information and sign in

7. Select Allow access if you see the option.
   Now, your YouTube should be enabled on your Smart TV and you should be able to browse and watch YouTube videos. Again, if you can not perform all the steps of youtube.com/activate smart tv, make sure your model supports the YouTube app.

• Remember to disable the autoplay feature if you do not want YouTube to automatically play additional recommended videos after watching a video. Go to Settings> AutoPlay on the YouTube menu of your TV, and uncheck the box next to “Auto Play”. l
• Launch the web browser on your Smart TV and go to the official YouTube website if you do not want to activate the YouTube app itself. This workaround is ideal for people who do not want their smart TVs linked to their Google Accounts.
• Connect your computer to your HDTV with an HDMI cable adapter if you do not have a video game console or smart TV and want to watch YouTube on your TV. This allows you to watch YouTube videos on your TV using your computer’s web browser. 
• You can buy movies on PC or Mac, iOS, or Android, and then access the content of most current versions of the YouTube app by accessing your library and then “Shopping”.
