You may encounter an error with a code of 1603 when you try to install zonealarm on your Windows. The error message is basically something like Error: -1603 Fatal error during installation. It usually occurs when you use a Windows Installer package to install the program.

Solution 1: Uninstall and Reinstall the ZoneAlarm Program Associated with Error 1603

  1. Open Programs and Features by clicking the Start button.
  2. Click Control Panel in the right menu.

  10. In the File Name box, type a name for your backup file, such as “ZoneAlarm Backup”.
  11. In the Export Range box, make sure that “Selected Branch” is selected. Click Save.
  12. The file is then saved with a .reg file extension.
  13. You now have a copy of your ZoneAlarm-related registry entry.
